Navigating Career Transitions

With the challenges that many industries have encountered this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, a lot of people have been forced to undergo career transitions. Many have been let go from their jobs or had the industry they were in, go under.

Career transitions are not easy, as they come with having to learn new things and getting used to new routines. Most people shy away from making career changes because they are too scared of change or failing.

Making a career change is an investment in both time and money. And as with every investment, proper research should be conducted before making any decision. Here are some tips on how to make a successful career transition:

1. Ask yourself why

This is an important question to answer before you embark on this journey. Ask yourself why you think a career change would be a better choice as opposed to a job change. Find out what the risks and downsides of this change are. Getting answers to these questions might help you see clearer and notice the flaws in your plan if any.
